Cultural and Language Connections Make the Difference
Mike Kobeissi was born and raised in Lebanon. At the age of 18, he was sent by his parents to California to avoid the horrors of the war ravaging his country. Along with his clothes, he took with him a small model Renault race car; a representation of his passion for cars, racing and the pursuit of the American Dream.
Upon arrival, he began work at Ralph’s Grocery in La Cañada. He promptly earned his real estate license, and began forming long-lasting relationships in the community that would endure for thirty-five years and counting. What took place in the future is considered by many to be the true definition of the American Dream.
Mike eventually opened his own brokerage firm, Kobeissi Properties, which adhered to a unique approach and style to real estate. Mike’s office is a symbol of this approach. Patterned after a Mediterranean café, the office is complete with exotic car displays, bar, lounge seating and a custom office. This space plays host to many events – as does his spectacular estate that he personally designed and constructed in La Cañada Flintridge, which overlooks the entire San Gabriel Valley.
A simple philosophy of exceptional client services has become a hallmark of Mike’s success. Supported by team members who know and understand the various cultures and languages of the buyers, Kobeissi Properties is notorious for matching their clients with the most suitable properties.
Today, his brokerage firm is the top producing and most prestigious real estate company in La Cañada Flintridge, being recognized as the leader for high-end estates in the affluent neighborhoods within the San Gabriel Valley.
“Like myself, people from other countries come here for the California Dream,” comments Mike. “Our market and clients represent the wealthy Middle Eastern and Asian families and investors. Many want to locate in the best school districts and prestigious communities while others want to invest in the financial security of American real estate.”
Mike fluently speaks and writes Arabic, and has agents who hail from China and Korea. This allows Kobeissi Properties to build vast networks and establish common bonds with their clients – a must-have for successful business interactions.
EXOTIC AUTOS & ART
“My passion for cars is also a cultural passion and interest of our foreign buyers. We bring together clients and friends on the first Saturday of each month to showcase their rare and exotic autos at our Kobeissi Cars & Coffee event. The display of cars in front of our office, combined with the personal interactions creates an unmatched experience,” exclaims Mike.
Real estate, autos, art collections and fine jewelry are the most common hard asset investments for wealthy individuals and families, and Southern California is the one area in the world where these investors feel safe and secure with their investments.
“Our market has been changing from the more traditional ‘move-up’ market to foreign investors and families wanting a piece of American security, and real estate has and always will be the safest investment,” concludes Mike.
