For over 50 years since it’s inaugural year in 1963, the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Pageant has been one of the most anticipated events in the Los Angeles community. There are approximately 20 young ladies who are chosen as finalists to compete for the title of Miss Los Angeles Chinatown. They spend 10 weeks in preparation for this event where they learn techniques on public speaking and presentation as well as the history and current affairs surrounding the Chinese American community. This year’s event was sponsored by several corporations and local businesses, including DREAMS Magazine who was the media sponsor of the evening.
